Faith in Action

In my last blog post, Believe It, Before You See It, I shared how important it is to have faith for the thing you’re believing for.  While believing in something before you see it manifest is important, so is what I’m about to share with you.

When we look at many of the stories in the bible, we see that with God’s promises, also came a required action.  For example, when God promised to rescue the Israelites from the Egyptians in the book of Exodus, it required Moses to take action.

In Genesis, Abraham was required to act.

Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.
— James 2:21-22 (NLT)

I could go on and on.  The bible is filled with countless stories of faith in action!

This made me think back over my own life.  The things that I have believed God for on my journey, has required action on my part.

Believing that there was greater on the inside of me and wanting to discover what that was, required me to take the leap of faith and leave the Air Force.

Wanting to get a college degree, required that I take the steps to apply, register for classes etc.

Having faith that one day this blog would exist, required me to do the work necessary to make this dream a reality.

None of those decisions were easy to make. It took not only faith on my part, but action as well.

Sometimes, what we’re believing God for can seem so big, that we don’t know where to start, or how to make it all come together.

God-sized dreams require faith.  When God gives you a “God-sized” dream, it may seem impossible.  You may feel that you don’t have the finances and resources to make the dream a reality.

If this is you, you’re in the perfect position!  God desires it to be this way.  When the dream becomes reality, you’ll know without a shadow of a doubt, that it was God that made it possible.  GOD WANT’S THE GLORY!

One of my favorite quotes has become…

Don’t downgrade your dreams to match your reality. Upgrade your faith to match your vision.

This is the time to go after the thing that God has given you! Even if you’re reading this a year from now, this message is still for YOU!  You’re not reading this today by accident.

What small step can you take today to show God that you have so much faith for the thing you’re believing for, that you’re willing to put your faith into action?!

Sometimes we sit around waiting on God, when God is waiting on us to take the next step. Do what you can do, and watch God do the rest!

One small step today may not seem like much, but that small step today, can change the trajectory of your entire life.

Do some research.

Give it a name.

Make the phone call.

Send the email.

Fill out the application.

Perfect the talent.

Have faith. Believe…

Put your faith into action!

Today’s Reading: James 2:17, James 2:24

James 2:17 (NLT) “So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough.  Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

James 2:24 (NLT) “So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.
