Don't Be Silent
When I started this blog, I knew that I wanted to impact lives. To do that, I knew that I had to be real and transparent. On social media, we always see the best of peoples lives. But life isn’t always pretty. We all have ups and downs.
Some days are tough! Many are trying their best to “push through” and make it to better days.
I had this idea of how I thought my 2019 would look. It can get very discouraging when you look around, and what you envision, doesn’t look anything like your surroundings.
I can be honest, and say that my 2019, doesn’t match what I envisioned so far. The past few weeks it’s been a challenge to even sit at my computer, and come up with content to share with the world.
It’s hard writing blog posts to encourage others, when you’re feeling discouraged yourself.
I’ve noticed that the more I entertained negative thoughts, the more I was giving the enemy access to bring in fear, doubt, anxiety, sadness and depression.
Like many, I have faced disappointments, and been hit with some things this year that were totally unexpected.
I didn’t realize it initially, but now I can see that my anxiousness has really been the byproduct of me not fully trusting that God can, or will really do, everything that He promised me that He would do.
I had to remind myself, that nothing about my life, or the events in my life, has taken God by surprise. Although, some things have been a surprise to me, God was already aware of those things before they happened.
Yet and still, he promises that everything works out for the good of those that love Him and are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).
Guys we are in a fight!!
The enemy wants us to be so discouraged by our situations, that we doubt God’s promises over our lives. Our discouragement can cause us to run and hide.
If we’re not careful in controlling our thoughts, we can lose hope, and no longer believe that God will come through.
Please know that you are not bound to the reality that you see today. Where you are right now is temporary. Believe that greater is coming!!!
What we must do…
WE MUST SPEAK!
Don’t speak negative words over your situation. Regardless of what you see, speak life! Speak those things that be not, as though they were (Romans 4:17).
Proverbs 18:21 tells us that the power of life and death lies in our tongue. So we must be mindful of the words we speak.
WE MUST DECLARE!
Declare that your situation is already better. Be specific! Speak the opposite of what you see.
Wake up every morning and declare that you are EVERYTHING that God says that you are. You will be EVERYTHING God has called you to be, and you will have EVERYTHING that God has ordained for you to have.
WE MUST FIGHT!
This spiritual battle we’re fighting is not a one time battle. It’s a battle that we must be continually engaged in. We must PRAY and be in relationship with God daily.
We must read the word of God, and it’s important as believers to fast, and seek guidance from our Father. Allow God to lead and direct your steps.
Please don’t give up! Know that God didn’t bring you through everything you’ve been through, just to leave you now.
Today’s Reading: 2 Corinthians 10: 4-5, Ephesians 6:10-13
2 Corinthians 10: 4-5 (KJV) “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”
Ephesians 6:10-13 (NLT) “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”
