Your Goals…God’s Plans
Back in January, I was hype y’all! I went to Michaels, and bought my 2019 planner at 50% off. This is how I was going to map out my year, and my blog posts every month. I was doing pretty good for the first few months of 2019, and then somehow, this planner got stuffed in a drawer somewhere. (Never to be seen again, until I pulled it out to take this picture lol.)
This really got me thinking about the goals that we set for the year. You know those new year resolutions. Some we follow through with, and some we don’t. If you’re anything like me, you look around, and it’s December. Then you find yourself asking, “Where did all the time go?”
I realized that some of things that I set out to do at the beginning of the year, never got accomplished. As you look back over your year, your 2019 may not look the way you envisioned it. This doesn’t mean that you’re not exactly where you’re supposed to be.
God had his way of reminding me of this today.
If you follow me on social media, I posted this, last Friday.
“Expect a miracle” is something that God had impressed on my heart that day. So, back to the planner. I told you guys that I had this planner stuffed in my drawer for a while. When I went to find it, it had been so long since I had seen it, that I didn’t realize it had the words “Expect Miracles” on it. (By the way, I realized this a few days after the social media post.)
As I was flipping through the pages of the planner, a note fell out that I wrote on January 1st of this year. We’ll get to the details of the note in just a second, but first let me take you back to New Years Eve.
On New Years Eve last year, my family and I, attended a big New Years Eve service that our church has every year. We arrived late, so we had to park on the very top deck of the parking garage. I am so not a fan of parking garages. It’s just something about being stuck in the garage, with one way in, and one way out. Anyways, I kept thinking the whole time, “it’s going to be crazy getting out of all this traffic.”
The crazy thing about it was, when we got ready to leave, somehow we beat the rest of the traffic leaving, without any delays. I remember thinking, wow, it’s a miracle that we arrived late, parked so far away, and we still made it out smoothly. I was sitting and thinking about this when I got home that morning. I took out my pencil, and paper, and wrote this...
I completely forgot that I had wrote this! I believe that God was reminding me this week, that although I may not have a check mark beside every goal on my list, that I’m still where I need to be. He knew that when I wrote that note, I would be sharing it with you today!
Sometimes, when our plans don’t work out the way we want them to, we can get discouraged. The Bible tells us this...
If God has given you a dream, desire, or promise for your future, know that God is not late on turning things around in your favor. Don’t worry about the time. Don’t be discouraged because things still don’t look the way you envisioned. When it’s YOUR TIME, things will shift in your favor. God’s timing is perfect! He knows how to get you to exactly where you need to be, exactly when you need to be there!
Today’s Prayer
Father God, I thank you for all that you have done for me. You are a good father! I thank you for the wilderness season, and this time of preparation. For I know that you have great things in store for me. Help me to wait on your timing, because your timing is perfect. Let your plan for my life, prevail over my own desires. Let your desires for my life, be my desires. I thank you that I am right where I need to be, and at just the right time, you will fulfill every promise over my life. In Jesus Name. Amen.
