Purpose & Relationships

The people we surround ourselves with can keep us stuck, or help push us into our true destiny. I prefer the latter.

I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m so over being stuck! I’m sure like me, you’re ready to have everything God has in store for you.

Relationships are so important. I think many of us, from experience, know how the wrong relationships can affect our lives.

At one point, I let people into my life so easily. Back in the day, I had no understanding of who I really was. I was unaware that many of the people that I let into my life, were sent there on assignment by the enemy, to rob me of my purpose.

The enemy knows that the wrong relationships can get us off track, distract us, and cause us to straight up forfeit our destiny.

Who we date, who we marry, who our friends are, and who we surround ourselves with, all play an extremely important role in our present, our future, and us reaching the purpose God has for our lives.

It took a lot of heartache, and me learning things the hard way, to realize that God really cared about every aspect of my life. That included who I let into my life. After being hurt one too many times, I finally became wise enough to ask this question, when new people would show up in my life…

“God, Did you send this person into my life?”

followed by...

“If you didn’t, please remove theM.”

Now, I’ll be the first person to say that this is NOT an easy prayer to pray. When you really care about a person, it may be hard to not imagine that person in your life. But, let me tell you this, you don’t want anybody in your life, who God has not sent for His purpose.

Surround yourself with people who add to your life, not people who take away from it.

I had to learn that God sees what I can’t see. We can only see the right now, but God can see the past, present, and the future. God is omnipresent.

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “people come into your life for a reason, some for a season, and some for a lifetime. We must have discernment from God, to know which category people fall into.

Not only does the enemy want to bring people into our lives, to attempt to alter our path, but he also wants to destroy “kingdom relationships”…those relationships that God has brought together.

We shouldn’t hold onto relationships beyond their expired time, and we shouldn’t give up on those relationships that God has ordained.

Do the people in your circle motivate you to do, and be better. Are they honest with you, and tell you when you are wrong, or do they just tell you what you want to hear?

Do the people in your circle attempt to crush your dreams with their doubt, or do they encourage you to follow your dreams?

We should surround ourselves with people who motivate us to do better, not those who tear us down, or try to pull us back into a life that we’re trying to walk away from.

God is placing people in your path to help you fulfill the purpose, and the calling that is on your life. God has great things in store for you, but not everyone can go where He is taking you.

God will bring ALL the right people into your life, at just the RIGHT TIME!

Today’s Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for every relationship in my life that you have ordained. I know that you know what’s best for me, and that you have great things in store for my life. Thank you for bringing people into my life that will help me on my journey, as I grow closer to you. Remove those people from my life who were not sent by you. I pray for the discernment in this season to know who is for me, and who is against me. Above all else, I want your will to be done in my life. Have your way in every area of my life, even my relationships. In Jesus Name. Amen.
