God, Where Are We Going?

As I was spending time with the Lord this morning, I began to think about my journey. My mind went back to six years ago when I made the decision to move back to my home state. Each leg of the journey began to play in my mind, and as I thought about where I am today, I asked God,

Where are we going?

I know that I’ve come a long way from where I used to be, and I can see God’s hand, his provision, and his protection along the journey, but today I couldn’t help but feeling…well…still kind of lost.

Stepping out on faith can be scary when we don’t know what’s next. Many times God calls us out of an old place, because He has so much greater in store for us, but it can be very difficult when it feels like the “greater” is taking so long to arrive.

Many of you have stepped out on faith, and are walking out your own journey right now. Maybe you started a new job, started a business, moved to a new place, or made a decision based off of what you were feeling like God was leading you to do. Somedays it may feel like you’re not going anywhere, or you may even question your decision, but know that God is right there with you leading you day-by-day…even when it doesn’t feel like it.

I believe that on this Christian journey, transparency is so important. That’s why I started this blog. So, give me a second to be transparent. I can be honest, and say that somedays I question this ministry that I know for certain God told me to start. Somedays I wonder if it’s worth it, or if it’s making a difference in anyone’s life. There have been times that I wanted to quit.

I’ve said this before, but when I left the Air Force in 2014, I didn’t know that I would eventually start a blog, or a YouTube channel. Ever look back over your life, and wonder how all the seemingly different pieces of your life fit together?

You may ask questions like…

“Why did I have to go here?”

“Why did I have to experience that?

Why am I in this place?”

Sometimes we can’t see how all the pieces fit together, so we can become frustrated, and feel lost when we can’t see exactly where we’re headed.

Although I may not know what’s next, I find my peace knowing that God has been with me on every part of my journey. I may not know exactly where God is taking me, but I know that so far He hasn’t failed me.

I asked the question again, “God, where are we going?” The reply was simply this…

Take my hand and follow me.
— Holy Spirit

God won’t lead you astray. Continue to seek his guidance daily, and know that He is with you always. Even though you may not see it right now, all the pieces of the puzzle are coming together to form a beautiful picture. Even when you doubt it, know that you’re right where you’re supposed to be. Don’t give up.

Today’s Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank you for always being there for me. I admit at times I get frustrated, and overwhelmed when I don’t see things happening as quickly as I would hope. Thank you for making things clear to me, and for continuing to lead and guide me on this journey to becoming the person you created me to be. I submit my will to yours, and I pray that you will give me your strength daily to continue on the path you have for me. Help me to follow you. In Jesus Name. Amen.
